THE JOURNALISM STUDENTS

Online journalism can easily be interactive. By utilizing the hyperlinks contained on the web, online journalism works can present information that is connected with other sources. It means that users can enjoy online journalism information efficiently and effectively but also be able to find out more in-depth information via the web has to offer.
For me, there is a wrong assumption about what is appropriate is presented in the online media. In principle, the online media is not just fast forward the news or breaking news. Online media course should present the news with a quality of analytical weighing. This is of course to meet the needs of readers, who not only require the most current and update information, but also new insights based on multiperspective. The online media in the future, it should be, not only to compete at the speed of presenting the news, but also provides a good news, varied, and have depth and quality of information.

I personally believe that Journalism students are enthusiastic individuals who produce knowledgeable, skilled, articulate, innovation and interesting graduates. They are enthusiastic individuals who work well under pressure and so are actively sought after in a wide number of occupations and professions. Examples include; Cultural Services, Business and Management, Political and Social Administration, the Media in all its forms including Research, Government / Civil Service (national, regional and local) and associated institutions, and of course the Teaching Profession.

And I hope in journalism program, we are here have spirit of curiosity, resourcefulness and concern about the issue of the day. We can practice the fundamentals of thorough news gathering and concise writing while we also study the history, literature and law of our field.
So in journalism, as student we have to make great effort as writers, so we can take more responsibility for the accuracy of their work, without editing assistance. It's not enough for aspiring journalists to study how to craft a story - we must bring also a passion.

Effective journalists must not feel inhibited in expressing and practicing the core values that drive us and our work.

My core values, as a journalist, are:
  • There is value and rule in community, beyond living in one's narrow self-interest, and group’s interest.

  • That truth is found through empiricism, through observation, analysis, and  can be found through evidence.

  • Awareness. At least we are aware that in the lecture process. We must study the science study of online journalism in focus and knowledge about the internet, because now it has become a necessity, especially for us as students of journalism.

  • That wealth and popularity ought to be pursued through work before other means or in other word without the other way.

  • Into collection of hard working people, can work together productively and always pray to God.

How to Wash T-Shirt Safely

Washing clothes is an activity which we often do almost every day. We have to do it because if we don’t wash our clothes, they will become stinky and moldy. Of course we don’t want it, especially for T-Shirts. We often wear T-Shirts when we go out to gather with our friends or attend an informal event. Some of my friends -and me too- sometimes also use T-Shirts in a lecture. For boys, T-Shirt shows their identity because T-Shirt has many various kinds in accordance with trend style which is developing among teenagers. But unfortunately many of my friends don’t know how to wash T-Shirt safely. We often found our T-Shirt become more stretchy after we wash it for many times. That is annoying and here I will give you some information how to wash T-Shirt safely and make it keep comfortable to wear.
First, don’t spray too much perfume to your shirt. Some perfumes which contain alcohol can leave white or yellow spot after we wash it because detergent can attached in your shirt when it reacted to alcohol. And also keep it away from alcoholic drinks.
Second, you must pay attention to your shirt’s silk-screening type. The first type is for plastisol ink silk-screening. This type usually has coarse texture. Don’t brush it in that area if there is any spot of dirt there just rub it softly because plastisol ink silk-screening is not sustainable, quickly broken if it not treated properly. Mostly underground shirts use this kind of silk-screening. And I suggest you to never wash it in laundry or washing machine because the rotation in washing machine can broke the silk-screening. (Silk-screening=sablon).

This shirt is use plastisol ink silk-screening

The second type is sticker. We can found this type of silk-screening in many shirts. For this type you should pay attention to it’s silk-screening too. Like plastisol ink, sticker-type will quickly getting loose if we don’t treated it properly. So be careful when you rub it and never brush it in silk-screening area.

 Sticker silk-screening

And the third type is ordinary silk-screening that usually used on commonly shirts. For this type you don’t have to worry about how the safe way to wash it because it is long-lasting and not quickly broken. But be careful, don’t too often use it under sun rays because it will faded.

 The example of ordinary silk-screening

The third step to wash your shirts safely is squeezing and hanging. Squeeze it until quite dry and not too many waters left there if you don’t want your shirt stretched. But if you want to stretch it, better for you to left a few waters there to help it stretched when it dry, you can do this action for the shirts which is so tight to wear. And for hanging, never hang your shirts when you just done to squeeze it. Why? Because when it still wet and you hang it, the neck-area will stretched. You can hang it when it is not too wet but haven’t dried yet. And you should just lay it on clothesline or drying tools but never dry it on wire or un-stainless iron because it will make the wire/iron corroded and left corrode spot on your shirt.

Lay your shirt onto drying tools to avoid corrode spot and keep it’s neck-are not stretched

Numbered Seats: Not Yet Touched the Community

The face of the railroad-companies of Indonesia is considered the better. It is based on new innovations with the aim of advancing the field of railway transport of Indonesia especially. The transformation of the PT. KAI are easy access to gets a train tickets; Internet access for the station and the passangers on the train; free public telephone for XL costumer; remedical tracked and locomotive; free toilet; and the launch of the railway economy class with air conditioned facilities which greeted positively by the community.
From October 2011, in order to provide comfort on passenger, PT. KAI only sells train tickets ordered by number of seats. This applies to all class of train, both executives, business, and economics. All passengers ascertained get each number seat and sit according to the numbered seat. No more passangers standing or even siting on the floor.
That provision does not apply to the local train that serves short distance like KRDI, KRDE, KRD, and KRL. To prevent passengers without tickets, there will still be enforced system of boarding, passangers with their tickets are allowed to enter the platform up to 2 hours before TRAIN departure. Beside that, the simultaneous examination by the employee of PT. KAI will be done in a more intensive. However, there are some things that seem not help this progress.

This I've experienced while using the services of Penataran economic train with Surabaya destination. I’ve buyed the tickets at the Blitar railway station. I started queuing at 06.00 in the morning. Yhis is what I loved from this small town. The people will queued by themselves. Finally I got the ticket and departurre at 10.09 am.
In the tickets that I have, inscribed the number of train and the number of seats in the train. In my tickets written the 5th wagon and the number seats are 23E and 23D (I bought two tickets of economy class). Then, I’ll try to find the 5th wagon and search the number seat according to the tickets. However, I still see a middle-aged woman sitting on a seat that was supposed to be mine at that time. I approached that woman and directly asking if I was able to occupy the seat, because she was seat on the numbered seat according to my seat. That woman reject it impolite. She said that she also can’t get her chair because of other people sit down on her seat. She had a reason that her destination is near this city, it is on Kepanjen, and I think it is still far from Blitar.

Finally, I relented. That woman insisted to sit on the chair that supposed to be mine at that time. I have to stood up till Ngebruk station before Kepanjen. This is can be the one of obstacles. Passengers who are selfish and only thinking about themself. It was useless with the numbering of seats if the passengers are still selfish like that. The intention of PT. KAI to provide comfort has not touched the people like that woman.

A Movie Reviews : BATTLE IN SEATTLE

Battle in Seattle Film Poster
Battle in Seattle is a film inspired from a real event. This film tells about citizens of Seattle City, USA who did protest action, over the coming World Trade Organization (WTO) in late November 1999 in that city. This protest was a kind of rejection of WTO which had caused much harm to the world, especially for developing countries. This film begins with a brief explanation about history of WTO and GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trades), which imposed a system of world trade liberalization and expand. This organizations whose members up to 150 countries controlled 90 percent of world trade and slowly pushed the economic development of developing countries. Human rights and the environment forced to be subordinated with world trade.
The climax of this film is when some WTO member of states delegates who would do conference in Paramount Theatre, Seattle, intercepted by 10,000 demonstrators who were doing peaceful protest to express their disapproval to WTO. This big protest was coordinated by Andre Benjamin who acts as Django and his friends, Sam (Jennifer Carpenter), Jay (Martin Henderson), and Lou (Michelle Rodriguez). The blocking action that did by activists, made policeman did repressive action and it tends to anarchist and also arrests the activists. Of course these forces act is contrary to initial agreement of mayor that no arrest from police during peaceful protests carried out.
Andre Benjamin as Django, one of activist in protest toward WTO
Many conflicts are featured in this film, including conflicts experienced by  mass media. This film that made in 2007 tells about mass media which loses its role as the real informant of facts. The mass media mostly actually had been dominated by large companies in the U.S.. Jean, played by Connie Nielsen one of reporters of Kodo 7 Eyewitness News considered not objective in informing news. Jean finally chose to join the activists. Another conflict is an internal family conflict experienced by Ella (Charlize Theron) and Dale (Woody Harrelson), her husband, who was a member of the police. Ella lost her womb because of a blow from a policeman who tried to discipline the protest.
This Stuart Townsed's film is very interesting. Several sets of the original video of protest are also included, so that the audience also knows the real situation at that time. Conflicts which highlighted in this film makes the audience emotion expressed, otherwise the problem that taken is the fact that actually happens but not widely known. After watching this film, viewers get entertainment and also important information in it and are able to retrieve the values in each scene. But unfortunately, the main role in this film, Andre Benjamin who acts as Django is less dominates, so people who watch this film guess that Jay (Martin Henderson) is the main role because he often acts out in each scene. This film that full of information and knowledge actually not suitable for consumption by children under the age because many scenes of violence in it.
This movie reviews is original. Written by one of King Students, especially Mass Communication class, for fulfilled Online Journalism last examination.
